From 9:00am – 2:00pm, a producer-only market will pop up at the intersection of South Lakeview Ave. and Tremaine St. in Winter Garden’s downtown historic district. Discover all that Central Florida’s harvest has to offer with over 60 local food purveyors, gardening workshops, cooking and homesteading demonstrations, live music, kids activities, and more!
In the afternoon, explore the town’s farming history at the Winter Garden Heritage Museum. Or, cool off indoors and learn about the city’s modern connection to local food with several events we have planned within walking distance from the festival.
In the evening, experience an unforgettable Farm-to-Table dinner, set in Winter Garden’s beautiful downtown pavilion. The ticketed dinner will highlight West Orange County’s chefs, local & seasonal farm-fresh ingredients, and some of Central Florida’s best micro brews and spirits.
A Local Folkus LLC, producers of the Winter Park Harvest Festival, are partnering with the City of Winter Garden and Slow Food Orlando to produce the first Winter Garden Harvest Festival on May 5, 2012 from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm. This outdoor festival will celebrate farm to table living, highlighting local farmers, artisans, food purveyors, and other important stakeholders in the region.
The festival will be held in downtown Winter Garden, adjacent to the city’s existing farmers market. With the aim of encouraging Central Florida’s local economy, every aspect of the Festival will be sourced locally, from promotion and marketing to entertainment and, of course, vending. By showcasing West Orange County’s local producers at a Farmers Market and a Farm To Table Dinner, the festival will contribute to Winter Garden’s charming sense of community, and support the food and farming culture that is such a defining characteristic of the city’s heritage.
